Footnotes

I never learned in school that there were so many different kinds of green. Or that rain does more than clear the air. I never knew that it was possible for my heart to feel at home in places I've never visited. No one ever told me that words are flimsy but used by millions of poets. I was never told that sometimes silence is cowardly but other times its noble. That its hard to find a good person to talk to or that it would feel so good to have you look at me and not say anything. Because we both understand that silence is noble, even if no one told us.
